About JR Hoell

JR HoellPlease note: I am an engineer by trade and not a politician

In March of 1993, I drove up from NJ to visit some friends in NH.  After spending just one weekend up here, it became very clear that once I completed my Masters in engineering, I should move to NH.  After graduating, I moved up to a small town (Deering, NH) and began working/volunteering up here.  In 1995, I returned back to the field of engineering working as a Mechanical engineer for a supplier to Ford automotive.  (Beede Electric instruments)

Between that first engineering job in NH and today, I have worked on developing products and solutions for the following industries:

  • Medical
  • Automotive
  • Law Enforcement
  • Military
  • Transportation
  • Optical
  • Heavy Equipment
  • Telecommunications

In addition to working for both consulting companies and manufacturing firms, I have started and run a successful privately held engineering consulting firm that has created opportunities for both other contract (1099) employees as well as creating additional full time positions (W2).  This is where I learned first hand how oppressive our NH Corporate tax system is and why the BPT (Business Profits Tax 8.5%, and the BET (Business Enterprise Tax =tax on compensation,.. {wages}), need to be immediately reduced.

Today, I am one of the Mechanical engineering leads at Segway working to bring the company to a prosperous future.

In addition to being a full time engineer, I have been on the board of directors for a condo association, and I am currently on the board of directors for a gun rights group.

I am married to Charlene (13 years) and we are the parents of 4 wonderful children (ages 2-10).  Together we home school our kids, (but honestly, Charlene deserves all the credit, as she bears the brunt of the work)

Please support me in this effort to reform our State House.
